The Director of the Centre for African Studies, Prof. Sergiu Miscoiu, was, for the 5th consecutive annual iteration, the director of the training programme « Post-conflict Stabilization and Reconstruction – Support to the wider Sahel Region », organized by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Agency for International Development, with the collaboration of the Romanian Embassy in Egypt and H.E. Olivia Toderean (20-24 October, Cairo).
The course was inaugurated by E.S. Mrs Luminița Odobescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, and H.E. Mr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
25 high officials, public servants and prominent civil society militants from 17 African countries and Romania benefited from the input of 9 Egyptian and Romanian experts.
This event opend some promising avenues of cooperation between the Centre for African Studies at UBB (Cestaf) and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping & Peacebuilding (CCCPA).
