UBB involved in organizing a seminar on countering disinformation and post-conflict reconstruction in Ethiopia<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Center for African Studies (CESTAF)<\/strong> of Babe\u0219-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (UBB) supported the organization of the training program \u201cPost-Conflict Reconstruction and Stabilization \u2013 Best Practices in Building Resilience and Countering Disinformation,\u201d<\/em> implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Romanian Agency for International Development (RoAid), held in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) between October 20\u201324, 2025.<\/p>\n

For the sixth consecutive edition, the director of UBB\u2019s Center for African Studies (CESTAF), Professor Sergiu Mi\u0219coiu<\/strong>, serves as the scientific director of this international training course, conducted in French and English. Through the program, 25 high-ranking officials, government representatives, and civil society actors from Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, the Central African Republic, Mauritania, Senegal, Tanzania, South Africa, and Romania benefit from the contribution and expertise of eight Romanian and Ethiopian trainers.<\/p>\n

As part of the course, the CESTAF director, together with representatives from Addis Ababa University, led a working session of the Africa\u2013Europe Cluster of Excellence dedicated to \u201cSustainable Water and Land Resource Management for Human Well-Being.\u201d<\/em> The Cluster is part of a broader international initiative through which the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA)<\/strong>\u00a0and The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities<\/strong>\u2014of which UBB is a member\u2014aim to make substantial efforts to support Africa\u2019s scientific development and to promote the continent\u2019s equitable involvement in global sustainable development initiatives.<\/p>\n
